Gangway Tower
What Are Ship Gangway Systems?
Gangway Systems are used to enable personnel and crew a safe access to ship and shore. One of the most important safety equipment, now almost necessary at all major ports. Gangways are designed to follow the ships movements due to changing tides and changing in draft during loading and discharge, as well as the ship’s surge, sway, and heave motions. Each Gangway is custom designed for its customers suitable for the largest ULCC (Ultra Large Crude Carries) to the smallest Barges.
Gangways facilitate safe movement of personnel and materials from ship to shore while ship docked. Cranes can be integrated into Gangways for movement of materials and ships spares.

In India DKC is tied up with M/s. VERHOEF ACCESS TECHNOLOGY BV., The Netherlands (Verhoef) Verhoef was founded in 1945 and has been an innovative company ever since. Verhoef Access Technology has designed and manufactured more than 1200 shore-based access systems for Oil and Gas terminals to 70 countries all over the world.
In 1966 the first Verhoef Automatic Gangway Tower was manufactured for BP Petroleum.
Verhoef manufactures anodised aluminium gangways that provide a safe link between the ship and the shore. Verhoef is an expert at designing and fabricating client specific ship-to-shore access equipment with telescopic gangways, lift platforms, stores cranes and fire monitor columns, which provide a safe passage from ship to shore for the crew of all types of vessels in the petrochemical industry.
Tower Type
with a telescopic gangway that moves vertically along the tower by means of a lift platform. Because of its lift platform, the gangway-tower can cover ship deck levels from Small Barges up to Ultra Large Crude Carriers in combination with ship movements resulting from tidal, loading/unloading and heave motions.
Column Type
with a telescopic gangway at a fixed height. The column type is suitable for reaching ship deck levels from well below up to a maximum of approximately 18 meter (54 feet) above jetty deck.
Riding Ladder
can be used when the variation in ship’s deck levels is limited and sufficient. space on the jetty deck is available.
